John Blackman - Melbourne
I have been a part of Australian radio and television for over 40 years.
My main claim to fame is as the booth announcer (and the voice of Dickie Knee) on Australia’s longest running variety show – Hey Hey It’s Saturday, which ran for an incredible 28 years on the Nine Network and is now back on air due to popular demand and topping the ratings.
I have recorded literally thousands of TV and radio voice overs since I started my radio career at 2GN in Goulburn in 1969.
Capable of all genres - soft sell, hard sell, corporate, straight, accents ( a couple) – anything!
Totally professional; I show up on time, work quickly and have an uncanny knack of reading a commercial to within a hundredth of a second of its life – a sound engineer’s dream.
As an extra bonus, I do inappropriate jokes between takes!
We are a three-income family – the one I earn and the two she spends
