
Biography
Ben Geurens is an accomplished Australian actor with an extensive career across television, film, and theatre. He began performing in the late 1980s, appearing in iconic Australian television series such as The Man from Snowy River and Neighbours, and went on to graduate from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2004.
Over the past decade, Ben Geurens has built an impressive international portfolio, living and working in the United States and Canada. He gained recognition for his series regular roles on The CW’s Reign, where he portrayed Gideon Blackburn, and Legacies, in which he played the darkly charismatic Necromancer. His international television work also includes a guest appearance in the critically acclaimed comedy The Good Place.
Ben’s film credits are equally diverse, ranging from cult Australian titles like Body Melt to independent features such as Monkey Puzzle and Locusts. Most recently, he appeared in Zack Snyder’s epic sci-fi adventure Rebel Moon. His ability to transition seamlessly between genres has made him a sought-after talent in both mainstream and independent film circuits.
In his home country, Ben Geurens has contributed to numerous Australian productions. His television work includes roles in Molly, Catching Milat, Mr. and Mrs. Murder, and Magazine Wars – Paper Giants 2. He has also guest-starred in a wide array of series, including Packed to the Rafters, Home and Away, All Saints, Blue Heelers, McLeod’s Daughters, Underbelly: Badness, and Australia on Trial – Massacre at Myall Creek, showcasing his versatility across drama, crime, and historical genres.
On stage, Ben Geurens has worked with many of Australia’s leading theatre companies. With
Melbourne Theatre Company, he starred in Entertaining Mr. Sloane, The History Boys, and The Glass Soldier. For Sydney Theatre Company, he performed in The Great, and at The Malthouse, he tackled Stephen Sewell’s provocative play Hate. His stage work also includes This is Our Youth, Shining City with Griffin Theatre Company, and The Pride at Red Stitch Theatre Company.
