Biography
James Saunders is an award-winning actor who has performed on stages and screens throughout Australia, Europe and the Americas. James discovered his extraordinary vocal range while trying to get into pubs underage in Sydney… it was amazing how easily bouncers believed him to be a Scottish/Welsh/South African tourist/Rugby player/ballet dancer who’d left his passport at the hotel. Despite these less than salubrious beginnings, James’s vocal versatility has taken him from a New York accent at the Sydney Theatre Company, to speaking fluent German on stage in Sao Paulo Brazil.
James Saunders can get to the heart of a script instantly, moving effortlessly between characters and moods, making them uniquely his own. With an ability to make offers, improvise and take direction, James brings empathy and believability to any retail script or narrative. His work in film, and TV (Animal Kingdom, The Turning, Offspring, Winners and Losers, Dr Blake, Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries) as well as radio documentary and drama has spanned 17 years and counting.
