“The voiceover industry never ceases to amaze me. Brilliant, creative, interesting, challenging and I love it. I’m so very fortunate to be part of this industry and so very proud to be still a part of it after, well, a number of years.

The voiceover industry in Melbourne has grown around me and I like to think I’ve grown with it. From being one of very few females in the business when I began my voice over career I’m so thrilled that we’re now such a force. There was a time where a male voice was the voice of authority in the commercial world. Supermarkets were always the male domain but not anymore. The gender divide was weighted heavily but now I believe it’s truly equal.

I am in awe of the high-tech nature of this industry. Book narration is an important and growing part of our work. Online infiltrates our lives and we take it all in our stride. I can stand in the studio and record to anywhere in Australia, if not the world. Gone are the days of the razor blade and editing block. We listen, we time, we alter, we direct with the tap of our fingertips.

I have always taken pride in my work and I feel blessed to hold a respected role in the voiceover world. I’ve developed many great character voices throughout the years which all travel with me.”
