Biography

Jessica Grace Smith has been working as a voice artist for the last ten years between Australia and New Zealand, most notably she was the voice of MTV for three years covering both regions as she finds it easy to switch between accents. She enjoys reading audiobooks and would love to work on an animated project one day. Jessica recently moved to Melbourne with her husband Benedict and two children, Raefe and Winter, and would love to meet you either via her home set-up, or in the studio.

Jessica Grace Smith graduated from Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School in 2009. She has worked consistently as an actor throughout Aotearoa and Australia and is most known for her core cast roles on Australian soap Home & Away and popular New Zealand series Westside.

Ten years ago Jessica Grace Smith also turned her hand to writing and directing. Her debut short film Everybody Else Is Taken (2018) won the Youth Jury Award at Academy-Award accredited Palm Springs International ShortFest; was nominated for Best Short Fiction at Barcelona International Film Festival, and went on to screen at many top festivals worldwide. She now has a slate of film and television projects in development that she is working on with her husband Benedict Wall under the banner of their company Wise Wolf.

In 2020 Jessica was selected for the DEGNZ Emerging Filmmaker Incubator where she began developing her feature film Minors.  In 2021 she was awarded a SEED grant to develop the script alongside co-writer Benedict Wall and Script Editor Katherine Fry. Minors is now a completed screenplay ready to go out to producers.  She completed a directing attachment with Peter Salmon (After the Party) on television series The Pact that same year.
