While he naturally has a fun, fresh and comedic tone, Lawrence Ola has the ability to adapt and provide both warm and friendly, as well as serious and informative type reads. Born in New Zealand to Samoan parents, but spending most of his life in Australia, he describes his distinctive tone as a ‘Tasman Sea Accent’, making for an interesting choice for clients looking to market in both New Zealand and Australia – and an even more unique selection for clients outside those territories!

Working in the booth, Lawrence can make quick and confident choices with cold reads or on the spot script changes. He understands the difference gaining or losing a word in the copy makes; how to speed up or slow down a read without sounding rushed or too laboured – especially with those 6 second versions; which words to best emphasis in a sentence, and knowing when and where to pause in a read for maximum impact.

Lawrence Ola has had extensive on screen experience in the TVC world, especially with brands Sleeping Duck and Step One. His on camera presenting skills have helped him score numerous recurring campaigns with the brands – blending comedy, complex brand detail specifications, wrapped up in a conversational, yet professional manner that’s easy for audiences to digest, enjoy and understand. He has even written commercial jingles used in several TVC campaigns!

He has also been a working actor for a number of years appearing in film and television, both locally and overseas. Lawrence has made appearances in ‘RFDS’ (S3 – Endemol Shine Australia), ‘Upright’ (S2 – Lingo Pictures), ‘Wellmania’ (Freemantle) and ‘Watching You’ (Lingo Pictures) ; He has appeared in the films ‘This Little Love of Mine’ (Jaggi Entertainment) the Newcastle drama ‘Strangers in a Car Park’ (McBrat Motion Pictures) in a lead role. He also made his theatre debut in the Pasifika play ‘Fekei’ (Sour Cherry Productions).
