Myfanwy Hocking is a non-binary artist living and working in Narrm (Melbourne). As an actor, writer, poet, theatre maker, and teacher, they are constantly furthering their craft. Myfanwy has narrated over 15 audiobooks for Audible, narrating the entire series of ‘Magic Animal Friends’, a fantastical children’s series. Myfanwy brings a fresh, natural, youthful femme read to the books. They are excited by character and animation voice work, but adore all things voice!
Myfanwy Hocking has worked as a performer at the Melbourne Theatre Company, Theatre Works, Butterfly Club, Antipodes Theatre Company, and NORPA Lismore. Their plays have travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe and done Melbourne theatre circuits. Their play ‘Storked’ is being produced in 2025. Myfanwy Hocking is a double graduate of the VCA, attaining their BFA in Acting in 2019, and their Master in Writing for Theatre in 2021. From this institution, they were awarded the George Fairfax Memorial Award (2022) and the Keith and Elizabeth Murdoch Travelling Scholarship (2023), both for excellence in their craft. They have lectured at both the VCA, and NIDA Open.
Myfanwy adores all things art and all things queer, and is seeking to queer the theatrical and commercial climate in Narrm through all their work. On top of all this – they’re a joy to have in the studio!
