Nikki Shiels is a multi-award-winning actress whose career spans an impressive list of high-profile theatre, film and television roles both nationally and internationally.

As a Voice Artist, Nikki has worked extensively across corporate, narration and advertising, most recognisably as the character of ‘Jacs’ in Budget Direct’s ongoing ‘Insurance Solved’ campaign.

On screen this year, Nikki joins the core cast in the role of ‘Chelsea’ for season three of the celebrated Australian comedy, Colin from Accounts. A selection of her recent screen work includes The Get Out, Inside, The Last Anniversary, Prosper, The Newsreader, Ten Pound Poms and Bloom.

Appearing regularly on stage in leading roles across Australia’s most prestigious Theatre Companies, Nikki Shiels is one of the countries most celebrated and sought after theatre artists. Most recently she performed as the protagonist in Daphne du Maurier’s thriller, Rebecca for Melbourne Theatre Company. Other recent stage work includes The Picture of Dorian Gray, A Streetcar Named Desire, Sunday, Girls and Boys, Home, I’m Darling and My Brilliant Career. Internationally, Nikki has performed at the Barbican, London and The Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh.

Nikki’s recent awards include the 2025 Timeout Arts & Culture Critics’ Choice Award for Best Performance in a Play for her leading performance as ‘Blanche DuBois’ in A Streetcar Named Desire, the 2023 Gloria Payten and Gloria Dawn Fellowship for her contribution to the Australian Acting Industry, the 2020 Green Room Award for her leading performance as ‘Judy Martin’ in Home, I’m Darling and the 2018 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Female Actor in a Leading Role for her performance as ‘Rita’ in They Divided the Sky.
