Virginia Gay – or as she’s known in the industry ‘the cheaper Cate Blanchett’ – specialises in warm, calm, authoritative, and knowledgeable. She’s been the girl next door, your mate, your date, a cut glass Brit, and an All American Valley Girl in a wide variety of campaigns. (She lived in both England and America for many years, so you know those accents are water-tight.)
She takes particular pleasure in a deep, honey-throated soft sell. You might know her from being head nurse on All Saints, or a high-flying lawyer on Winners & Losers, or a dirt-covered thigh-slapper (you ‘eard) on stage in Calamity Jane.
